*EXCLUSIVE* Virtual Discussion with Highly Acclaimed Author Karen M. Greenwald

DID YOU KNOW THE FIRST WOMAN MAYOR IN THE U.S. WAS ELECTED IN ARGONIA, KS?

Join us for a virtual discussion on the story of Susanna Salter and hear from highly acclaimed author Karen M. Greenwald about her book, A Vote for Susanna. You will also be inspired by hearing from Jade Piros de Cavalho, Mayor of Hutchinson, KS, and Mary Messner, Executive Director of Madam President. This exclusive event is reserved for Trailblazers ($1,200+ annual donors) Changemakers (monthly donors) and Ambassadors.

Susanna Salter was elected in 1887 after Kansas gave women the right to vote in municipal elections (well before the 19th Amendment gave women the right to vote in 1920). Susanna was initially nominated for mayor as a joke by several men in the community who mocked her interest in civic engagement. She overcame those obstacles and has inspired many women leaders who have followed in her trailblazing footsteps.
