We Build Stronger Communities & Enhance Collaboration

Our Impact is Magnified Throughout Communities

The Appointments Project® accelerates women’s impact and influence by increasing their civic participation and is the only program helping expand civic appointments for all women at the local, county, and state level. The Appointments Project dismantles the barriers that hold women back, fast tracks women, and calls local communities to action.

Many elected officials appreciate the support to recruit, train and prepare women for civic leadership. By registering for the Appointments Project, candidates receive a toolkit of resources that serve as a roadmap for their civic leadership journey.

The Appointments Project partners with elected officials at no charge to the city, county or state, or to any appointee.

United WE works to understand the unique culture of each community and the diverse populations they serve. We work with elected leadership to identify willing partner organizations to increase diverse participation among women. A preview of some of our esteemed partners is pictured below.

A National Movement With Proven Results

In addition to increasing gender diversity, the project emphasizes increasing racial equity on civic boards and commissions among women, with women of color representing 37% of applicants.
