Cottey College Award
Cottey College has selected the Women’s Foundation to receive the  “Women Going Places Award” in early October. This award recognizes individuals or organizations that have positively affected the lives of women through personal, professional, or philanthropic efforts.  We are proud to accept this honor and thankful to Cottey College for their support.

When we band together as a community, we can achieve more to empower women than we could ever do alone. The Women’s Foundation is proud to partner with KC-resident and social entrepreneur Christie Garton and her company UChic, a mission-driven lifestyle brand whose product sales empower teen girl consumers through scholarships. UChic is launching its first product -the "Gracie," a computer case on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo this fall. Proceeds will help fund the dreams of 14 deserving young women through UChic’s "1,000 Dreams" scholarship program. As part of our partnership, seven out of 14 girls to be funded are recent graduates of our Girls Grant Project. To support our girls and UChic's 1,000 Dreams mission, visit Indiegogo.com, and use the keyword "UChic" to learn more about the "Gracie" computer case. Read more about our partnership in Huffington Post or to follow the journeys of these young women, visit UChic.com for an insider’s look.
